Scotia Sound was created to deliver refined, high-energy celebrations with intention. Founded by Andrew "DJ Dru" Tufts — a DJ with over 35 years of experience — Scotia Sound blends big-city polish with East Coast warmth.
We intentionally accept a limited number of events each year to ensure every client receives focused attention, curated music programming, and seamless execution.

MEET THE FOUNDER
Andrew "DJ Dru" Tufts
In 1986, Andrew walked into his first high school dance in Nova Scotia. The music was loud. The lights were bright. By the end of the night, he knew he wanted to be behind the booth.
His first paid gig came in 1987. By 1991, he was performing high school dances across the province. In 1989, he DJ'd his first wedding — his father had to drive him there.
In 1995, Andrew moved to Toronto to pursue DJing full time. By 1997, he was performing five to six nights per week, holding club residencies and supplying entertainment for major venues and cruise lines across the GTA. He provided DJ services for over 2,000 events during his tenure with Mariposa Cruise Lines and worked with major corporate clients across multiple industries.
After decades in Ontario, Andrew returned home to Nova Scotia. In 2023 and 2024, he performed nearly 40 weddings with one of Atlantic Canada's leading DJ companies and earned Community Votes awards in both years.
Scotia Sound represents the culmination of that experience — built on craft, professionalism, and a deep understanding of how music moves people.
Andrew remains the Lead DJ and Creative Director of Scotia Sound.
